The Daily Five: read to someone

Hello All!  As we move into the new year, I have restructured our Literacy block to include the aspects of the Daily Five Literacy Program.  The Daily Five consists of 5 activities that encourage literacy development, gives students some choice in their activities, and allows me to meet with small guided reading groups that are differentiated to meet individual needs.  Each day, your child will have an opportunity to Listen to Reading, Read to Self, Read to Someone, Work on Writing and Word Work. I have attached pictures of students engaged in the various activities.

Read to Someone: Students sit with a partner or volunteer to read a chosen book. This is Mrs. Harmon, a volunteer working with students. I will be looking for a volunteer to help out on Fridays from 10:00-11:15. If available, please let me know. Thank you!
